Fall into Autumn interiors

August 19, 2010
Autumn is here and with it brings an exciting new palette of colours to inspire you in your interior decorating. Autumn is all about crunchy leaves, crisp evenings and cosy sofas. There are plenty of ways to incorporate this season and its characteristically vibrant colours into your home.

Autumn colours are representative of nature and its ever changing cycle of colours. This season brings to mind burnt golds and oranges, luxurious reds and rustic browns. These colours are warm and inviting to the eye making  them perfect for key rooms in your home such as your living room and bedrooms.

This Autumn also brings with it an exciting new trend reclaim and vintage. Reclaim is all about finding and renewing old pieces of furniture or using vintage pieces to add a unique focal point to a room. Why not use an antique vintage chair as a feature in a room, or sand down an old coffee table to give it a new lease of life. If you don’t have the time to do this yourself why not shop for the perfect reclaim piece at Irish store Fuse Finds.

For Autumn paint colours, look no further than Crown’s Indulgence Range. It has a fantastic collection of beautiful rich brown shades such as Tempting, Chocolate Comtesse  and Mocha that are perfect to incorporate into your Autumn inspired room.

When incorporating Autumn colour trends into a bedroom it is important to use relaxing shades that you will be comfortable with. Why not use warming brown colours such as Crown’s Brown Sugar or Liquer. If you are looking for something different why not try indulgent reds like Elegant Pout or Fireside. Curtains and lighting are very important when creating a darker Autumn dusk atmosphere in a room. Finish off your Autumn infused bedroom with vintage accessories such as photo frames, throws and mirrors.

The living room is the perfect place to use rich gold shades like Egyptian Sand or Old Gold from the Crown Colour Card. Living rooms can be given an elegant feel by painting one feature wall in a gold colour while leaving the others an off-white tone such as Stone White or Crisp Cotton. Dark furnishings is a good choice to help tone down brighter Autumn tones and creating a cosy feel in your living room.

Always remember interior decorating is about you and your individuality so it’s important to create an atmosphere you enjoy.

Happy Decorating!
