Sneak Peak into Colour Trends for 2010

January 2, 2010
The aftermath of taking down your decorations is actually the perfect time for inspiration and to give your room a fresh look. Not only because the New Year brings with it new changes, but I guarantee you will also have a positive approach towards new colours and trends.

As Crown Paints have proposed some fabulous new trends for the New Year I’ve decided to give you a little sneak peak into the world of interiors for 2010.

Crown recognise that now more than ever, people are investing in things that last, classic items that will withstand the test of time and become more stunning with age and wear. For 2010, it is beauty that is paramount.

This year, colour proportions and accent colours are central to the trends; palettes reflect a shock of colour or light within a space and accents are capable of adding an entirely new depth or character.

If you are considering warm bold shades then Terra might be the palette that you are waiting for. Warm oranges and burnt reds combined with strong greys, and dusky pinks.

If it is simplicity you are aiming for then Simple Beauty is what you need to create a calming space with natural shades of soft beiges. They key is to strip back and focus on the natural beauty.

Accessories are key when you want to bring classic shades to life. St. Germaine is a beautiful palette filled with classic timeless colours and when combined with metal, glass or mirrors will create a sense of timeless elegance.

These are just some of Crown’s Trends for 2010 that capture the spirit of our times and I hope capture your imagination as well.

Happy decorating and Happy New Year,

Neville
