Neville can you help! I want to decorate our hallway, staircase and landing area. It is a typical traditional narrow hallway in a semi detached house. We have a pine dado rail running along the walls and the doors, banister and skirting boards are also pine. We need to brighten it up and make it look more inviting but I am starting to feel that everything in the house is beige, brown & pine.
My daughter recently completed her mock Leaving Certificate examinations and unfortunately the results leave a lot to be desired. At the moment she is studying in her bedroom and with having a short attention span, I feel that she is getting distracted. I think this is the best time to turn our spare room into a study space that she can use separate from her bedroom. I want to make this space both comfortable and stress free. Can you help Neville?

I haven’t decided the exact use of the room yet but I was thinking that if it is decorated in a neutral way it may be appropriate for a lot of uses. Ideally I want to create a room that is calming and for chilling out. I don’t have an awful lot of money to do this so decorating on a budget is a must. Where do I start and what do you suggest?
The attic is generally
