Autumnal interiors inspired by the experts

Enjoy the season in style!

The 23rd of September marked the official start of autumn in Ireland, and— while we’ve enjoyed the sunny summer— we’re welcoming this new season with open arms. It’s time for cosy blankets, warm drinks, soft knits, and evenings by the fireside.

How can you prep your interiors for the next few months? We’ve looked to the experts for inspiration on this, and the following blog post will cover some of our favourite tips!

1. Use a warm, earthy colour palette like Kelly Wearstler: We love this colour combination for autumn, pictured in a Broad Beach residence designed by Kelly Wearstler. The brown tones and wooden walls really help to cosy up the space while adding dimension with the various shades and silhouettes. Using natural materials such as wood, rattan, cane, and wicker will bring a sense of warmth to any room. You can easily ddd autumnal colour to your interiors with furnishings or accessories such as rugs, cushions, curtains, and objects.

2. Embrace orange feature pieces like Jonathan Adler: Jonathan Adler is a certified expert on pieces that POP and his interior projects spotlight bright colours, whimsical shapes, and fun vibes. We love this lacquered orange chest that was featured in one of the New York homes Adler designed. This is a major statement piece, from the bold colour choice to the shapely gold hardware. While many people seem to shy away from orange, you can see here how just how stylish it can look— and it’s perfect for autumn! This unexpected colour may just be your new favourite shade…

3. Opt for Terracotta walls like Beata Heuman: This terracotta bathroom designed by Beata Heuman in a London family home is an absolute dream. Classic yet contemporary, this bathroom seems both bold and timeless at the same time. Pair terracotta walls with pops of green for a fresh and vibrant look. Try our shades Five Spice or Carmolito from our MoodBoards collection to get the look. Moodboards brings together Ireland’s best loved interiors magazine and Crown’s passion for colour, to present a collection inspired by everything we love – style, texture and, of course, colour.

4. Go for red furniture in plush fabric like Bobby Berk: What colour says autumn and winter more than a resplendent red? Red is ideal when you want to make a statement and you’re bound to find a red furnishing that suits your style with so many options out there. We love the look of these red sofas in a living space designed by Bobby Berk, of Queer Eye fame. The colour red will instantly add a sense of cosy decadence to your room, making it the perfect option for the months ahead—and beyond!
